First Day

watch out LSPR, we’re coming!! (Well, about few months ago, but nevertheless this post would be never out-of-date ;P) Yess Yess, Ladies and Gentlemen, after about FOURTEEN LOOOOONG AND EXHAUSTING, but nonetheless GREAT YEARS of schooling, we finally graduated. And now, we have officially become undergraduate students or *MAHASISWA and MAHASISWI* of the London School of Public Relations, a.k.a, LSPR. *weee heeee!!!!

September 3rd of 2007 is the day we begin our journey in LSPR. After a boring SUPERLONG holiday, we finally set foot to initiate our precious *college years*. Thankfully, God heard our prayers when we asked to be sent into an amazing class, because we got into the SUPPPERRRRR DUPPPPEEERRRR AMAZIIIIIINNNNGGGG Xi.1A, where we will laugh and cry together for the next one year.

Seeing as it was our first day, most of us were very “diligent” and came early only to get the elevator broken because of a fire incident on the previous day, which “successfully” made us climb 6 set of stairs just to get to our floor. When we got there, the classes were still locked because none of the LSPR crews have opened them. So there we were, with our brand new clothes to start our college years, sitting on the floor, hoping the hands of the clock would turn faster so we can get into class. yes, guys and girls, we got a LESEHAN SESSION on our first day on campus. GRRRRREAT!!

The one activity that will never be lost on first days is introduction. Seeing as we knew only a few of our classmates, or even worse, none at all, we started unimportant conversations among each other hoping to have an “ally” in this class. However, with the class of the room, and the number of students, it was VERY VERY hard just to move around. at last, we managed though.

Marketing and General English were the sessions on our first day. without giving us a chance to warm up our brain, switching it from *SANTAY MODE* to *RAJIN MODE*, Mr. Silih innocently gave us a starting assignment. hwaaaa!! in General English, we just got a basic overview on what to expect in this class. the lecturer, Mr. Marc, even said that it was gonna be a bit boring, but we gotta do it anyway. *long sigh**

well, to conclude, our first day in LSPR, wasn’t great but it was fun. To meet new people and to start a new “journey” are both scary and exciting for all of us. Hmmmm. Fingers crossed for a year of more fun and less assignments. Hahahhahhahha.

LONG LIVE Xi.1A

MIDTEST

well. after months of regularly listening to our wonderful lecturers lecturing us, we finally have to face *horror music playing* MIDTESTS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! we were so scared so we studied our butts real hard (yes, we study real hard only when we’re agitated) hihhhi. well anyways, to get good scores, the “kosher” way, we read our book intently, we borrowed our friends’ notes, etc etc.

our first midtest was marketing. all of us came before eight and we were waiting by the room where the midtest was held. we were so panicked because it was an oral test and it was taken from 5, yes, FIVE chapters!! oh no! panicking, trying to practice the right answers, attempting to recollect thoughts from last night’s memorizing sessions, we wait and wait and wait and WHERE IS MR. SILIH!?!?!?!?!?! one of friend, Ms.CC, thought she was late so she ran from the parking lot and got there, with a face of dehydration, to be so thankful, and a little amazed that the midtest hasn’t started. after one of our classmate, Papi, called Mr. Silih….we unveiled the secret that he FORGOT that there was even a test. however, he hurriedly came, we did the test, and we prepared for the General English session we have right after.

First day was already an “experience” for us all.

well. another chaos happened when we were approaching our advertising midtest. our lecturer, Mr. sihombing a.k.a among, sent out question summaries alias kisi2, to some of our friends. they were supposed to pass them along. somewhere along the way, this system broke down, so each of us was at the mercy of our good friend, Ms. Silvi, who was nice enough to forward the question summaries to our emails. *we love you silvi* after we were done with the test, we found out that we actually didn’t do it up to among’s standards, because our scores were only so-so. we were so disappointed to hear that. but o well. we heard that some of the other classes didn’t even get the summaries, so were thankful enough.

during our Communications Science midtest, our dear dear friend, Ms. CC wasn’t allowed to do the test, which made her, and all of us, very sad. all of that happened only because she hasn’t fulfilled an administration thing. it’s weird because another girl who is in our class hasn’t done it either yet she was allowed to do the test. *hmmmm.

our last midtest was mass communication. Ms. Hershinta gave us slides on what she had presented to us earlier. however, it was rather hard to study because she explained the slides in Bahasa, and yet she gave us slides in English for studying. she also told us to buy a textbook in which only one chapter is to be studied from. the others were taken from another book that none of us have. we looked for the book and it wasn’t even at the campus’ libraries. *confused

well anyways…we only studied from the slides and we crossed our fingers really hard that we would get a satisfying scores. we were hopeless. hehhhehhe.

well. that’s about all of the “turmoil” during our midtests. we just hope we still get good scores though. *crossing our fingers….and toes*

XI.1A’s gossip

*SECRET’S REVEALED*

and this is what you call

JUICY

*Juicy Gossip numero uno

“is there a little baby on the way???”

*the class of XI.1A has been acknowledged as one of the best class, whether it is in class average score or class participation. However, there has been a strong rumor that one of our beloved friend (initial CC) is pregnant. This rumor is initiated by one of our dear dear friend, Mr. ADL (full name withheld as to protect him). The motive of him spreading this rumor remains anonymous.

Until this very second, the accuracy of this rumor is still being questioned. However, Mr. ADL, himself, has not stopped to spice this rumor with encouraging the question of “WHO IS THE FATHER OF THE BABY??” Some has said that he is a person the class sees often. Is it *THE SCOTTISH LECTURER?” or is it “THE PUBLIC RELATIONS T.A??”

“forbidden LOVE”

*scandals just don’t sleep in the class of XI.1A. There has been a strong buzz that our own beloved friend known as “Papi” is having an affair with our own lecturer (keyword: Tuesday, second session). This started when Papi sat close to our teacher, Mrs. H, and spread his charisma around her. Mrs. H, not being able to resist Papi’s charm, gave a meaningful smile.

Will Papi be able to keep Mrs. H under his powerful charm? What is the meaning behind Mrs. H’s smile??

“I loved you ever since you showed me how to zoom in”

*”Love appears when you least expect it”. This statement is true for two lovebirds of LSPR. Our own friend, Ms. D, has been diagnosed with the illness of LOVE, after she met our next-door-neighbor friend, Mr. P. Their love began when Mr. P was taking pictures of Ms. D and friends. During their photo session’s break, Ms. D asked Mr. P to teach her how to enhance her photography skill. Just when this was happening, Cupid came and they began to fall in love.

Ever since this happened, both of Ms. D and Mr. P has been adorably nervous and giddy around each other.

Will they bring their love to the next level? Will they break up? Will Ms. D find a better photographer??

XI.1A’s *Secrets Revealed* will unveil that for you. Keep posted!!

*Juicy Gossip numero cuatro

“I LOVE YOU, MR. TEACHER, SIR!!”

*With so many available guys around, it’s amazing how one of our friends, Ms. S finds one of our own lecturers, Mr. “FATHER” attractive. When she is asked about her profound ability on his subject, she would always say that it’s due to the “private sessions” she has with him. Of course she says it jokingly, but it hasn’t stopped us from asking questions about that.

Is her expertise in his subject due to her own ability? Or is it because of some other ability she has that’s only shared with him??

“ENVY or DISGUST?”

*Just a couple of days ago, a student in our class has officially declared war with our beloved friend, who previously has been said to be pregnant, Ms. CC, and her beloved friends, Papi, and Mr. Sexy.

This girl, let’s call her Ms. PD (name withheld to save her from embarrassment –editor thoughtfulness), posted a blog claiming that Ms. CC and friends are envious of her. She claimed that time would prove who was worthier and she even called Mr. Sexy a transvestite.

Ms. CC who has countless resources is furious. She admits that she doesn’t like Ms. PD, as many others would also share this feeling, due to Ms. PD’s intense amount in *KISS ASS* ability. However, not one second in her life did she ever feel envious towards Ms. PD.

Ms. CC seeks for further justification from Ms. PD. She is worried that Ms. PD mistaken her dislike and now, her disgust towards her, as a feeling of envy.

Ms. CC thinks that Mr. Sexy also deserves a proper explanation on the reason why Ms. PD would DARE call him a transvestite.

Ms. CC thinks that Ms. PD ought to learn a lesson on being careful to prepare her for her future, and that’s IF she still is interested in working in communication, remembering her lack of ability to respect and be discreet.

Will Ms. PD learn her lesson? Or will she continue on to misunderstand feelings of dislike as being praises?

the INSIGHTS into the chaos,

okay. Now, let's see some of the Lecturers opinions about our wonderfully chaotic class, 1A! Do they or don't they agree is it wonderfully chaotic?? hmm..scroll dooown.. to find the answers.

1) Mr. Silih Agung Wasesa, (our Intro to Marketing Lecturer), said:
>> One word that describes or class: "ACTIVE"
"My first impression about this class is noisy. But it was wrong, because I find that
this class could be so serious when I started to teach. This class is differ
ent with others
because every student has an unique thinking and question. Sometimes, I learn some-
thing new from them who ask the questions."

Sorry fellas, we don't have Mr.Marc pic. ;P
2) Mr. Marc Carmichael Brown, (Our General English Lecturer), said:
>> One word that describes our class: "RESPECTABLE"
"This class is quite hard-working, every single person in this class do it well in study. This is one of the best classes, open-minded and not childish. I also watch that the progress (in study) is very well."

3)Mrs. Margaretha, (our Logic & Philosophy of Science Lecturer), said:
>> One word that describes our class: "EXCELLENT"
"So ALIVE!! The most alive than the other class, much questions, high enthusiasm. I like this class because it makes progression for myself too."

4)Mrs. Heny Hayat, (our Indonesian State Philosophy Lecturer), said:
>> One word that describes our class: "SMART"
"I always find something new to learn in every meeting. Serious in study, so I never think that this class is noisy. Favorite students? Mm... I think Connie and Silvi, because they put their attention seriously at this subject. Actually, I love every single person at this class, because they are nice and active."

5)Ms. Hersinta, (our Mass Communication Lecturer), said:
>> One word that describes our class: "FUN"
"It's fun but a little bit noisy. Easy to catch up the subject and have many critical and smart questions. What is unique in this class is the solidarity and the uniform every Wednesday =)
P.S for this class: always be active, don't be noisy, especially Teguh!!"

Weew.. we must admit that we're impressed by the way they described our class! Yes, fellas. We are Active, Respectable, Excellent, Smart, Fun, while at the same time we are also noisy. Mmm.. yes, we are.. that's why we are WONDERFULLY CHAOTIC!

sneak peak

Here..here..fellas we will give you our insights for the Teacher's Assistants (TA). Go!

1) "Mr.Cool" (J)
>> We call him Mr.Cool because he almost never smiles.. 'Stay cool all the time', we think it's his motto.. =P He's the assistant of Mr.Marc, he plays his role very well at the class

2) "Mr.Handsome" (Tunggul)
>> Handsome, yeah..! Most of the girls in our class like him crazily.. Charming & Smart, High self-confident, though too high sometimes. He is the assistant of Mr.Arno, so sometimes we call them "Handsome duo", lol.

3) "Ms.Invisible" (Fiona Kalagan)
>> Why invisible? because we never met her officially during the class due to the fact that she always off on Monday, T_T. Mr.Silih always proud to have a beautiful assistant. But she is. She is a model too, so it's no wonder that she's gorgeous.

4) "The Princess" (Fiona)
>> We have two TA named Fiona. This one is almost the same with Mr.Cool. We think we could call her "Ms Never Smile". She's very serious in every meeting. No KIDDING!

Yeah, this is more or less our opinions about the assistant, but don't worry fellas we don't hold any grudge towards either of them despite what we've written ;P. CHEERS!
